The Centre for South Asian Studies (CSAS) is a fully independent, non-political, secular, research think-tank based in Kathmandu, Nepal. It organizes conferences and conducts research in areas of South Asian regional cooperation, peace and conflict in South Asia, small arms proliferation, trade and connectivity, disaster risk reduction, climate change and strategic issues concerning South Asian countries as well as Nepal's conduct of international relations. Some of the CSAS books are in university curriculums. CSAS is also enlisted as one of the top think-tanks in the Asia Pacific by the Global Go To Think-Tank Index Report brought out annually by the University of Pennsylvania. CSAS is part of several networks in South Asia and around the world.
